Spicemas – Grenada’s Carneval

For reasons of marketing, the carnival in Grenada will be relocated to August so as to attract a few more tourists to the island during the off-season. Clever! In Carriacou, carnival is traditionally celebrated at carnival time. If you go by ferry to the carnival on the neighboring island, so you can celebrate twice a year carnival. Many locals make heavy use of it.

BAILA ME

Our friends Petra and Willi visited us in May 2017 on our ship and had a lot of fun.
We sailed with them from Martinique to the Tobago Cays and back and made many island excursions.

NEVERLAND – a circumnavigation

My husband Alwin was for the last ten years captain of NEVERLAND, a 20m x 10m sailing catamaran.
He took it over in Samoa in 2005 and sailed it over New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Phuket, Srilanka, Oman, Red Sea and the Suez Canal to Turkey.
From there he sailed the Mediteranian to the Canarian and Cape Verde Islands.
After a single handed Atlantic crossing in 2012 to Martinique I became part of the crew some times.
We sailed the Caribbean Islands from Trinidad to the Bahamas, the east coast of the US up to Maine and back to the Bahamas.
His last job was to take the boat to the Azoren Islands in May this year.
Now NEVERLAND will cruising the Mediteranian for the next years or so.
This video is for the owner of NEVERLAND.

Tambakaria

Tambakaria, one of the most magical and beautiful places in Chania (Crete), which was known during the 19th century for its tanneries. Many of the old tanneries are today abandoned and ruined, but some are still working….
